IS: Infinite Stratos Episode 1 Impression

Okay~! Decided to start this anime on a whim (read as : Orimura Chifuyu)

The picture just screams Tsundere w/ Robot dude

IS: Infinite Stratos starts off with a guy, Ichika and some girls fighting some robot/mecha/gundam-ish thing in their robot/mecha/gundam-ish costums. Or battle suits...or whatever. I'm assuming Ichika pwns that thing with his Falcon Punch but iunno. Well anyways, a synopsis of Ep 1~

Seeeee??? I'm not crazy! I'm not even sure what they are.

Orimura Ichika is attending a school called the Infinite Stratos Academy, because he is apperantly the first male in the world to be able to pilot these things called IS, since it is generally something only women can pilot (I vote for sexism!). Infinite Stratos Academy is full of girls. He's the only guy in a classroom full of...teenage...girls...Oh the horror.
Of course...What's an anime without a hot older sister?

His homeroom teacher is  his older sister Chifuyu Orimura, an ex-IS pilot who apperantly disappeared sometime ago only to pop up again as a teacher. All the girls are head over heals for her, begging her to scold them...Those masochists!
Ichika feels uneasy and unprepared for this new life in the academy and tries his best to get used to it.

You can just see the love on their faces

Later he learns that his dorm roommate is his childhood friend who was giving him the "ignore" treatment all through class, also known as the  kendo champion Houki Shinonono(he must be lucky). Who he apparently has not seen for six years.

It's time to elect a class rep and the class chooses Ichika! Of course there's always that blond noble who will oppose of such things! And here, we welcome the British cadet representative, Cecilia Alcott, who is most obviously against the idea and through her frustration challenges him to an IS duel for the position.
                                       Them British blondiesssss!

It was a good start to this series. The animation was great, the voice acting was alright, nothing that special though, and the music wasn't half bad. However it wasn't an anime that would suck you in that much. Still, Episode 1 was a fun watch.

Hmmm...I'm not sure what to do next...I might go and play some PS3. We shall seeeee!!
